A message from the Chair of Board of Trustees
Thank you for your interest in the post of Chief Finance Officer at Maltby Learning Trust. This is an exciting time to join the Trust as a key Executive Leader and lead associate professional.
You will be joining a highly inspirational and ambitious organisation which strives for excellence in all it does to achieve the best possible outcomes for the young people and community. The Trust is a successful and highly collaborative partnership of local schools committed to raising the educational ambitions of the community in which it serves. This shared accountability, ethos and understanding of each other’s expertise and culture, aids transition and ensures a consistent educational experience.
The growth of the Trust since 2014 and collaboration between our partner primary and secondary schools has allowed us to improve educational and business standards and increase financial efficiencies and sustainability.
The Trust Head Office is located at Maltby Academy, a school which has seen a 10.9 million pound investment which includes a significant new build and remodelled existing learning spaces. As a hub of the community, it provides a reminder of the aspiration and expectation that all young people can achieve and serves as a symbol to represent the world of business and the concept of employability to which we want all young people to connect.
Effective Governance is crucial to the success of the MAT. At Maltby Learning Trust, the Board of Trustees is a dynamic group of business professionals who hold the executive leaders to account for delivering the Trust’s Strategic Plan. Our Trustees provide confident, strategic leadership to the Trust ensuring robust accountability, oversight and assurance for the educational and financial performance.
A key strength of Maltby Learning Trust is the team of ambitious Associate Professionals that support the teaching and learning agenda. The role of the Chief Finance Officer will oversee the functions of audit, risk management, legal and capital development ensuring that more teachers and leaders can focus on what they do best; great teaching.
We are looking to appoint a Chief Finance Officer with the vision, pace, resilience and passion to drive forward business developments and provide the strategic direction to the Trust alongside other Executive Leaders. In turn the Trust places high value on your own professional development through exposure to research and development, the provision of appropriate coaching and mentorship and opportunities for further accreditation at the highest level. The Maltby Learning Trust could be the next and last move you make in your career as, for the right candidate, we look for progression within our Trust.
We believe this position is ideal for an existing Chief Finance or Operations Officer who is looking for that next step within a locality Trust model. I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for your interest in the post and look forward to exploring your interest if you wish to take your application further.
Dame Julie A. Kenny DBE DL,
Chair of Board of Trustees
