Brewster Partners are delighted to be supporting a charity based in Wakefield to recruit their next Foundations Director.

The organisations mission is to inspire local giving, support communities and change lives and they are looking for an outstanding individual to lead them on the next stage of their journey.

The job

As Foundation Director you will take responsibility for furthering the Board’s vision and operational strategy and continue to develop its work, particularly as the country moves out of lockdown and into the next stage of rebuilding its economy.

 The main purpose of the role will be to give direction and leadership to enable the organisation to achieve its philosophy, objectives and strategies and to exceed annual targets as well as oversee the development and management of a permanent endowment fund able to provide grant-giving in perpetuity.

You will establish, lead and manage an effective, efficient and relevant grant making process and programme within the area and to facilitate the distribution of flow through funding on behalf of businesses, statutory funders and other donors. This will include responsibility for the management and administration of the organisation and manage all personnel.

You will form solid working relationships with external stakeholders and be an authentic networker with the ability to speak passionately and confidently in public.

The person

You will have experience of running a small organisation and be an excellent communicator with the ability to form lasting, meaningful working relationships at all levels.

You will need to be able to demonstrate your ability to influence and gain commitment from stakeholders and individuals to build effective networks.

You will have experience of Income generation and developing new sources of income effectively as well as experience of managing budgets and general financial management

The successful candidate will lead on the Strategic planning and project development and will work closely with the Board of Trustees in finalising the ‘ask’ for the organisation and then being able to move forward with this to ensure that financial targets are met.

Ideally you will have experience of working for or with grant making organisations.
