The job

As Retail Team Manager you will report into the Retail Regional Manager and be responsible for a part of the store and leading a team to ensure the highest standards are maintained. Working closely with the wider store management team you will endeavour to deliver a fantastic service to customers, putting them at the heart of everything you do. Further responsibilities are detailed below.

  • Assist the Store Manager with Sales Budgets, KPI’s and departmental rotas.
  • Deputise for the Store Manager as and when required.
  • Develop and lead a team and encourage contribution to sales and product availability.
  • Plan team rotas and overtime.
  • Deliver sales through first class merchandising and product availability.
  • Train, coach and develop colleagues to provide excellent customer service.
  • Analyse departmental data in order to identify opportunities and risk and develop future plans of action.
  • Responsible for departmental HR activities.
  • Deliver high store standards and operational statutory compliance.

The person

  • You will have proven management and supervisory experience working with retail. Ideally this will have been within a food retail environment, however other retail experience will be considered.
  • You will be a natural leader with drive and enthusiasm to deliver results.
  • You will have the ability to help plan, prioritise and organise workloads, according to the overall objectives and strategy for the store.
  • Flexible and adaptable to support the needs of the business.
  • The capability to work under pressure and be able to multi-task.
  • You must be hands on with a lead by example attitude and have the ability to gain credibility and trust.
  • You will have experience in colleague management, such as effectively managing absence and conduct issues
