The company

Brewster Partners have an excellent opportunity for a passionate and skilled Engineering Manager with an electrical bias. You will be responsible for managing the maintenance team ensuring mechanical and electrical support for the plant and site 24/7. Ensure all plant and equipment is maintained to the highest level in regards to health and safety reliability, efficiency and is of the standard required to meet current government legislation.

Hours of work are 7.30am – 3pm Monday to Friday.

The job

Duties will include:

  • To ensure the repair and maintenance of extrusion lines & plant equipment, i.e., facility repairs, machine faults, fork truck maintenance and the like.
  • To supervise and assist the maintenance team to carry out major works, e.g., screw extractions, calendar roll changes, die splits, line change-over etc
  • To attend other sites as and when required to support with maintenance requirements.
  • To liaise with purchasing and suppliers to organize delivery or collection of materials, & spares.
  • Responsible for the updating of the obsolete/ spare parts risk management file
  • To provide schedules of work, exams and retain records of work completed .
  • Advise the Technical Manager of any major works beyond the scope of the post holder or maintenance team.
  • To address Health & Safety issues promptly.
  • To work harmoniously with other staff, giving assistance when required
  • To be responsible for the housekeeping of maintenance areas, & works.
  • To set measurable goals for the maintenance department and review team performance on a regular basis
  • Interact and involve production employees in assisting with tasks, treating them always with respect and dignity.
  • To carry out on-call duties and be available for contacting out-of-hours.
  • To assist in maintaining the physical plant, electrical and mechanical equipment, fire safety systems.

The person

Skills and experience required includes:

  • An excellent understanding of machine and Plant maintenance
  • Recognised qualifications in maintenance management
  • 17th or 18th edition wiring regulations
  • Good problem solver and strong decision maker.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Understanding of current government legislation regarding machinery and plant.
  • Strong project planning and implementation skills
  • Flexible and adaptable to the business needs.
  • Excellent administration and record keeping skills.
  • IT skills to a competent level, able to produce reports, enter and extract data.
  • Good standard of education.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude
