The company
Brewster Partners are recruiting for a Planning Manager, for a market leading food Production Company. As the Planning Manager, you will be responsible for effectively leading a team of Planners, Schedulers and SOP Clerks.
The job
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure that daily forecasts are compiled and communicated effectively
- Maintain a close working relationship with Production, Procurement and Commercial teams with a focus on delivering alignment, efficiency, and waste reduction
- Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborative style, with well-honed negotiation skills to drive common supply chain processes across multiple departments within the site.
- Manage and review stock and systems to ensure deadlines are successfully met
- Lead, motivate and coach the team to deliver consistently high performance, achieve their KPIs and meet their training and development needs
- Encourage and facilitate continuous improvement thinking, collate and share knowledge and best practices and define ways of working for the future
- Monitor sales forecasts and demands from customers ensuring that the team builds these into the business plan
- Identify opportunities for improvements to optimise performance and cost efficiency
- Take overall responsibility for production planning, schedule adherence, and continuity of supply for frozen BULK and Finished products
- Review and ensure the weekly planning process / cycle is fit for purpose and adhered to
- Participate in shaping Supply and Demand Planning strategies, capabilities and processes that aim to improve operational performance and meet high service levels
- Identify opportunities to reduce Slow moving and obsolete stock
- Review and manage demand vs. capacity, delivering solutions to mitigate bottlenecks via developing capacity models; Support management with risk assessments, alternative plans and mitigation activities
- Drive and ensure master data accuracy for all production planning parameters
- Optimise / increase utilisation of system-based production planning– enable long-term planning less offline planning
- Collaborate with other managers to establish and build SOPs for existing and new processes and procedures.
The person
Skills and experience required:
- Strong Understanding of Planning
- Experience in supply, demand or inventory planning and execution
- Communication and interpersonal skills with experience presenting to various levels
- Proven strong people leadership skills
- Previous manufacturing industry experience with strong working knowledge of business planned systems
- Strong analytical skills, solutions & process oriented with an understanding of the importance that people, processes and technology in collaboration deliver Best in Class service
- Demonstrated ability to look for solutions to eliminate manual processes, streamline existing processes and improve workflows
- Experience of working within fast moving chilled goods, including supervisory experience
- Track record of delivering business excellence
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to build relationships with a range of both internal and external stakeholders
