The company

Brewster Partners are delighted to be recruiting for an SQL Test Analyst for a market leading engineering company.

The SQL Test Analyst will be responsible for working with our developers to understand customer requirements and technical elements of specifications, deploy and configure software updates, execute & maintain test plans and scripts and log & track bugs and defects. The Technical Test Analyst will be expected to investigate software defects by inspecting application and system logs, databases and scripts, and provide technical feedback to development teams to assist with identifying root causes.

The job

  • Provide technical elements to the planning, design and execution of tests for mitigating performance, security, reliability, portability and maintainability risks
  • Log and track bugs and defects via DevOps in a SCRUM environment
  • Support the Quality Analyst with technical input and knowledge transfer
  • Participate in reviews with developers and software architects applying knowledge of typical defects in the code and architecture
  • Owning actions, following up on actions of others
  • Identify technical issues and raise to project leads and stakeholders
  • Identify and flag risks to project delivery
  • Analyse data feeds and API end-point outputs
  • Prepare and execute handover activities to transition from project phase to BAU
  • Identify and advise on suitable test tools and technologies

The person

  • Excellent relationship & communication skills
  • Equally keen to work within a supportive and collaborative team culture and share the team’s success
  • Comfortable working and liaising with the technical teams
  • Be proactive, curious, driven by the requirements of your projects, and unafraid to question and challenge assumptions and plans
  • Experience of working within an Agile SCRUM environment would be advantageous
