The company

Brewster Partners have an excellent opportunity for an Area Sales Manager. Within the geographical sales area of responsibility, the Area Sales Manager will be responsible for developing existing customer accounts as well as developing new business in line with the company overall sales strategy.

The job

  • Liaise and identify with customer needs to achieve agreed sales targets
  • Keep up to date on Competitor activity both on new products and promotional activity
  • Provide weekly call plans, forecasts and reports detailing activity in your designated territory via the CRM System
  • Establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships with other Group Departments
  • Use personal judgement and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles in UK sales activity
  • Monitor, record, analyse and report on activities, trends, results and recommendations relating to UK sales activities
  • Support the implementation of the Business Sales strategy, ensuring sales activities consistent with overall aims and requirements of the Business
  • Effectively manage and support an existing customer base
  • Maintain and increase the volume of business with existing and prospective customer base through regular visits and cold calls;
  • Manage own appointments with Buyers/Engineers of existing and prospective customers;
  • Develop business relationships with certain Key accounts to maximise business through product training / awareness and providing local support where identified
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities for the sale of the client’s products including the Baty Vision Line

The person

  • Previous experience in a similar role, with success selling engineering / measuring equipment to a wide range of clients in a manufacturing industry
  • ONC/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or with proven relevant metrology experience is preferable
  • Experience of managing a budget, KPIS and strategy planning
  • Previous experience prospecting, closing and growing business accounts Ability to meet deadlines and efficient time and workload management skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative and within a team environment
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal)/interpersonal skills to interact successfully at all levels
  • First-class customer service skills and in possession of excellent relationship management techniques
  • Able to work creatively, on initiative and make sound commercial decisions
  • Proficient PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
