The company

Brewster Partners are working with a manufacturing business in Halifax to recruit a Planning Administrator. The main purpose of the role is to ensure stock accuracy, track purchase orders and works orders, forecasting supply and demand to prevent overstocking and running out of stock. Also assisting in production planning when required. The ideal candidate would need to be comfortable at working in a busy environment as well as be organised, fast learner and have good ICT skills which does include excel spreadsheets.

The job

  • Coordinating and controlling stock control operations within the manufacturing department, as well as the sales and finance department.
  • Supplying information to customers (internal and external) and the production teams.
  • Analysing supply chain data to ensure the uninterrupted availability of stock.
  • Forecasting supply and demand to prevent overstocking and running out of stock.
  • Evaluating vendors and suppliers’ offering negotiating profitable purchase prices.
  • Placing and receiving orders to replenish stocks as needed.
  • Tracking shipments and coordinating internal stock transfers, as well as resolving delays.
  • Overseeing stock storage processes, including labelling where necessary.
  • Maintaining the correct flow of stock from storage to where it is needed.
  • Performing regular inventory audits and keeping stock purchasing within budget.
  • Maintaining and updating daily shipment records, as well and price checking/audits.
  • Assist in production planning when required

The person

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Operating stock control software, both bespoke and Microsoft office-based applications,
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Great analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Interest in production planning
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
  • Good ICT skills, which must include excel spreadsheet.
