The company

Brewster Partners are excited to be working in partnership with a leading South Yorkshire organisation to recruit a HR Business Partner. 

This is an exciting opportunity working for a business where HR is at the soul of everything this company do!! HR is considered a valuable and integral part of the business and HR are closely involved with the Senior Management team when making business decisions. To provide a professional and expert HR service to managers and employees across the business with a specific focus on employee relations, absence management, and employee engagement. Operates with a strategic mindset by partnering with the various business functions and departments to truly understand the operating environment, making creative suggestions on how to improve HR related content, initiatives and strategy, to support business objectives.

The job

37 per week Mon-Thu 8.45am – 5pm, Fri 8.45am – 4.30pm

This role is largely based in the Doncaster office with regular travel to other UK locations when required. The role may require occasional overnight stays.  

The person

  • Building relationships with key stakeholders
  • Promote the support HR can provide, explain the impact
  • Contribute to the on going development of the 3 year HR business plan
  • Line management of a HR Administrator
  • Keeping in touch with the challenges facing the business and making commercially savvy recommendations
  • Coaching and upskilling line managers
  • Managing employee relations including investigations, disciplinaries, and grievances
  • Absence management including short term/long term sickness and authorised/unauthorised leave
  • Identify sickness issues/trends and creating solutions
  • Organising occupational health referrals when required
  • Owner of maternity/paternity/adoption leave processes
  • Updating company policies, procedures, and processes
  • Interpreting and advising on company policies, procedures, and processes
  • Reviewing service providers and making recommendations on new providers, make cost savings whilst balancing with a good service/product
  • Supporting on restructures including redundancies/TUPE
  • Handling settlement negotiations where appropriate
  • Employee engagement; create and implement initiatives, inline with company goals and objectives
  • Measuring and monitoring employee engagement levels across the business and implementing learning points from survey data
  • Wellbeing communications; constructing regular wellbeing topics and cascading this to all employees
  • Reviewing of employee benefits and making recommendations
  • Supporting on recruitment and training initiatives when required
  • Support on building relationships with learning providers, increasing the company brand
  • Monitor social media reactions and respond where necessary
  • Keep up to date with the market in which we operating in, to identify any changes that will impact on people, spot potential issues
