Brewster Partners is excited to be recruiting for an Accounts Assistant/Payroll Clerk to join a growing, fast paced group of companies close to Gainsborough. The role is working as part of a team assisting with monthly payroll, purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control and VAT reports, and would suit someone with previous experience in a similar, varied role. The company offers a down to earth, collaborative working environment, and chance to get stuck in to a multitude of interesting tasks. 

The job

  • Preparing multisite monthly payrolls including RTI, auto enrolment and year end submissions
  • Posting monthly payroll journals into the nominal ledger
  • Processing expense claims
  • Matching and posting purchase invoices
  • Preparing payment runs
  • Supplier statements
  • Daily sales ledger posting
  • Credit control
  • Bank postings and reconciliations
  • Cross charge intercompany invoices
  • VAT reports 
  • Assisting the management accountants as needed

The person

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of UK payroll legislation
  • Previous payroll experience
  • Posting on a computerised ledger system
  • Strong IT skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Sage 50 would be an advantage
  • A driving license is essential for this role, as the location is not accessible via public transport
