Head of UK Tax : Technology : Multinational : Remote Working
Brewster Partners are currently exclusively partnered with a globally established multinational who are looking to appoint their first UK Head of Tax in their Yorkshire headquarters. They are open on location for the right individual as there is no minimum requirement to be in the office on a day to day basis so will consider fully remote candidates. The successful individual will take full control of all taxation issues associated with the business within the UK.
The business recorded their most profitable year to date last year and have a global turnover sub £5bn. Over the past couple of years they have gone from strength to strength quadrupling their value globally. Throughout the pandemic there were no redundancies globally and nobody was furloughed. They operate a very diverse and employee led organisation where every employee is set up for success within the company.
Our client operates within the technology sector providing key services to well-known household brand names across the globe and are one the most profitable businesses within their sector out performing companies like Google, Facebook & Apple.
This is a globally visible position leading the UK’s tax function, working in partnership with senior stakeholders both locally in the UK and overseas within the organisation.
The UK is a key entity within the European structure and therefore this role is hugely high profile and a key hire for the business.
With plenty of opportunities to shape and structure the tax function as they see fit there are lots of progression opportunities for the successful candidate due to the huge importance of global and European tax management within the business.
- Full responsibility for UK Tax affairs
- Preparation of Tax Strategy
- Support on M&A
- Corporate Tax Returns
- Liaising with HMRC
- Payroll Taxes
- VAT returns
- CTA Qualified or (ACA/ACCA with substantial tax experience)
- Previous experience operating as Head of Tax or Corporate Tax Manager Level and an understanding of UK Tax accounting and compliance is essential
- Also if you are looking to make first move from the profession our client would also consider these candidates
- Experience in a senior leadership position in a large, matrixed organisation is highly desirable
- Understanding of US tax essential, particularly within US GAAP
Ability to lead and manage junior team members where required
Salary dependent on experience but you will likely be on a current salary between £60/80k plus benefits.
