DCC is active across four continents from its Dublin headquarters. Although principally operating in the UK and Ireland, it has around 9,000 personnel in 15 countries. Its procurement, marketing, sales, distribution and business support services are delivered through five operating divisions: DCC Energy, DCC Environmental, DCC Food & Beverage, DCC Healthcare and DCC SerCom. With stock exchange listings in London and Ireland, DCC’s market capitalisation is €1.9 billion. Its financial year ending 31 March 2012 delivered operating profits of €185 million on a €10.6 billion worldwide turnover.
DCC leads the UK and Ireland in marketing, sales and distribution of oil and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). Its oil distribution businesses are also among the leaders in both Austria and Denmark. Its oil sales are through a strong brand portfolio that includes FloGas, Shell, Texaco, GB Oils, Bayford, Carlton Fuels, Brogan, Scottish Fuels, CPL, Emo Oil, Gulf and Fuel Card Services. During the financial year ending 31 March 2012, DCC served approximately one million customers, selling 7.9 billion litres of product. It employs around 4,200 people across an extensive network of 320 facilities.
Fuel Card Services
DCC’s January 2005 acquisition of Fuel Card Services marked its entry to the fuel card market. Fuel cards have become essential for transport cost management for both commercial and public sector organisation. DCC Energy offers a portfolio of fuel cards that include BP, Emo, Esso, Gulf, Shell, Texaco, Diesel Direct and UK Fuels. Through these brands, it now sells more than 700 million litres of diesel and petrol annually.
