Cast

Welcome

Thank you for your interest in Cast. We’re currently looking for new Trustees to join our Board and support the success of our theatre. Cast is run by a skilled group of professionals and the Board oversees them, working closely with the senior management team. The Board operates on a voluntary basis, meeting regularly and bringing a range of skills, knowledge and experience to bear. In this pack we’ve outlined what sort of person we’re looking for alongside more information about the role Trustees play and about Cast in general. I would also point you to Cast’s website to gain an idea of the organisation’s output (www.castindoncaster.com).

The main purpose of the Trustees role is to provide oversight, scrutiny, challenge and strategic leadership of Cast, contributing to its continuing growth. Trustees ensure that the organisation operates within the parameters of its business strategy and that it is run in a transparent and equitable manner.

In the seven years that we’ve been operational, Cast has become a well-loved part of life in Doncaster but we are ambitious to evolve and do better. We want to be more representative of the communities that we serve, more relevant to the town and more responsive to the needs and wishes of our audiences.

Previous experience as a Trustee is not essential so if you’re interested in our work and think that you’ve got something to offer please do consider applying. We welcome applications from anyone inspired to give their time to this unique opportunity and are particularly keen to hear from individuals with skills or experience in the following sectors:

  • Performing Arts
  • Education
  • Frontline Services – Tourism, Catering, Hospitality
  • Environmental Sustainability

If you would like an informal chat with Dan, please get in touch with him at: dan@castindoncaster.com or, alternatively email Deborah Rees, Chief Executive at: deborah@castindoncaster.com

If there are any adjustments you need us to make to better support your access to the application process, again please get in touch with Dan or Deborah.

Yours sincerely,
Daniel Fell,
Chair
