Fundraising: how does it work?
At Bluebell Wood we care for children and young adults whose lives are just too short. Our mission is to reach every family that needs our help and to offer them the very best choice of care. Our dedicated Fundraisers are at the very heart of this vision.
Our services are completely free to families, so as a Fundraising Team our work is crucial when it comes to generating the £5m annual target we need to carry out our life-changing care.
Fundraising across the region
So how do we meet our targets? We do this by going out and talking to people, by running challenging and memorable events, and by getting our community on board to
Getting down to business
We also work with amazing businesses, where corporate social responsibility is a priority, by forging strong partnership agreements that mutually benefit both organisations, engage and excite their staff, all with the goal to of income for the hospice.
No day will ever be the same, but as one of our Regional Fundraisers you can be certain that each day you’ll be making a real difference to the lives of local families.
What our fundraising work helps us to do
Whether our Care Team are getting covered in shaving foam in a sensory play session with a little one or enjoying a dip in our spa pool as part of some hydrotherapy work,
we’re here for children and young adults whose lives are just too short.
These figures show some of the ways we helped families last year:
- We supported 36 families during the toughest times imaginable, offering 183 nights of vital end of life care both at our hospice and at home.
- We provided 24,816 hours of respite care, and 921 hours of short breaks in the community, giving families precious time to make memories.
- We were there to offer a listening ear, providing 1083 sessions of counselling for family members who needed someone to talk to.
